The Smiths Tribute Review

After my dad had me listening numerous times to his singing of “Girlfriend in a coma I know, I know it’s really serious” I decided to give the album a listen myself. How I had never listened to these before I do not know, The Smiths are, or were, Mike Joyce, Johnny Marr, Steven Morrissey and Andy Rourke.

In an intense 5 years Between 1983 and 1987 The Smiths released almost 20 singles and 7 albums, and are recognised by the critics as one of the most significant bands of the 1980’s. It is difficult to believe that Morrissey has been a solo artist longer than 2 lifetimes of The Smiths, and what a genius he is.

The Smiths

So when my local bar were selling Tribute tickets for The Smiths, I bought them, knowing of course it wouldn’t be anything compared to the real Morrissey, but anything close would do.

I can truly say it was a brilliant night, singing all the classics, and dancing away just like Morrissey would have (a little crazy but very fun and addictive). Throwing a noose around the stage when “Hang the DJ, hang the DJ, hang the DJ” came on, was my idea of mental but that was Morrisey, mental.

The smiths Ltd tribute band, are available to perform at parties, weddings and a whole variety of venues. They really put on a high quality show and I couldn’t fault them in any way. I would recommend to go and see them if they are performing near you, it’s a very energetic and fun night, the room was packed with all ages from 20-50 year olds, and everyone in the room were singing and dancing their hearts out.

So if your a Smiths lover, or an indie rock lover, definitely go and see them, you will not be disappointed!

I will put outfit details in the Fashion section of blog.
