Generation P review- How can a protein taste so good?

After many years of following fitness guru’s on Instagram for extra motivation and workout ideas, I came across one of my all time idols @Healthychefsteph.

After loving and following her rule of living a healthy balanced lifestyle, I was intrigued when I came across some protein she had been taking called ‘Gen P’.

When I checked them out, I found their products to be really low in calories and sugar, while really high in protein (a whopping 20g infact).

So, I wanted to test this out for you guys to find out if they really are all they advertise to be, because it sounded too good to be true.

First things first, I can’t believe they send me their whole bundle to try. Generation P should definitely change their name to Generosity P!

They sent me their 600g Strawberry Punch Protein powder, worth £24.99, and a Gen P shaker.

Their Chocolate and Strawberry protein milk, which is fat free, has 20g of protein and has only 130 calories in per bottle.

Also their chocolate caramel protein bars, and Gen P training tablets, which include green tea extract and caffeine for that extra boost on hump day.

The full bundle information.

Let’s start with the Strawberry Punch protein powder.

I mixed 30g of protein powder in my new pink shaker with almond milk for extra thickness, and the result?

WOW. It tastes like strawberry heaven, literally.

Gen P recommends on the bottle to try it with 150ml of water, which I did, and that tastes just as good for even less calories than having it with milk.

I can actually say it tastes like a McDonald’s strawberry milkshake, but 10x better, especially knowing all the good things it is doing for my body.

The ingredients seemed pretty good too, no hidden nasty additives…

Strawberry punch flavour

Whey protein concentrate (milk) (40%), milk protein concentrate (32%), isolated soya protein (contains emulsifier: soya lecithin) (23%), flavourings, magnesium citrate, colour (beetroot red), thickener (cellulose gum), sweetners (sucralose, acesulfame K). .

For 116 calories, low carb, low fat BUT super high in protein, you really need to try this.

It’s everything you want from a protein powder, no nasty chemical after taste, just pure strawberry bliss.

I would definitely rate this 10/10.

Next up, is the Protein Milk.

So after such high expectations from testing their super delicious protein powder, I was interested to find out if these would taste just as good.

For me these were much more convenient because they are easy to grab on the go before or after a workout, or if I feel I need some extra protein in my diet.

Usually I am a total choco-holic, but I must say the strawberry flavour has won me over on this one.

The chocolate flavour was really nice, but something about the smooth strawberry milk just made it feel so much more refreshing, and that’s exactly what I needed after my workout –  A refreshing kick to restore my energy levels and repair my muscle.

These are perfect if your too lazy to make a protein smoothie, or if your cupboards are looking bare of ingredients.

They’re super handy to have around the house, and with 20g of protein per bottle, Gen P have now made it wayyyy too easy for us to get our protein intake up after a hard workout.

Next up is the Gen P training tablets.

I don’t/have never taken pre-workout in liquid or tablet form.

However, these focus training tablets contain caffeine to give you increased alertness before starting an intense workout, which is pretty handy when your having an off day.

I tried these tablets out a few times when I was having one of those days, and they did give me that extra boost.

GEN P training tablets also contain green tea extract, chromium, plus vitamin B12 to support energy metabolism and reduce fatigue.

I must say they did help me perform a very good workout, when the last thing I  wanted to do was workout at all.

These tablets definitely give you the energy (when your feeling low of it) and help you perform at your best, and get the best possible results from your session.

They are worth buying, especially if you struggle getting to the gym, and the green tea extract does wonders for washing out any bad toxins your body might be holding onto.

My rating 8/10.

Now for what you’ve all been waiting for, The Chocolate Caramel Protein bars.

Before I start telling you my thoughts on these bars, I just want to state that I don’t usually eat protein bars due to their lack of taste, and if I’m going to be eating such things worth 200-250 calories, I don’t want to be wishing I could have a ‘calorie refund’ after it.

I would much rather be eating a Cadbury’s chocolate bar than stuffing my face with a protein bar that has just as much sugar in but tastes disgusting.

So It’s fair to say when it came to trying these bars, I was a little sceptical.

But how they have changed my opinion.

Gen P, it’s fair to say you aced this.

The chocolate Caramel flavour is just the right amount to out weigh any disgusting chemically aftertaste.

For 159 calories, they are now part of my daily diet, and with 10g of protein per bar, there’s nothing to feel guilty about.

They’re another great way to get your protein intake up, while being able to feed your chocolatey needs at the same.

My rating for these is definitely 10/10.

I’m overall very impressed with the full bundle.

As a regular gym goer I am always cautious of protein powders that claim to be so good for you, when they really aren’t.

With these products, Gen P have kept it simple, super tasty, and splendidly easy for us to use.

They even state on the packet what each product does for your body, and why you need protein, which is really handy for all those newbie’s out their.

I’m certainly very happy with these products and will be using them after every workout.

You can buy yours from any boots store or online here. Boots currently have some great offers on so be sure to check them out.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post, and for the gym buddies out their, try GEN P!!
