My favourite foundation’s: review and make-up talk

Hello everyone,

I bet you’ve all been wondering why I’ve recently disappeared off the face of the earth? Well, let’s just say one word… Dissertation.

My time at University has sadly come to an end and it’s been a hectic few weeks but I made it, and I’m ready to venture out into a new career after bagging myself a job in Presenting and Social Media Marketing!!

So yeah, that’s why I haven’t been able to write on here for soooo long, but I’ve got some brilliant new content lined up and I’m so excited to share it all with you.

I have been getting a lot of messages recently asking me about what foundations I use, what shade, and what I recommend for day and night wear.

So that’s why I’ve decided to put a little review/talk about my two go to foundations.

First things first I’ll talk about my everyday wear, the Armani Luminous Silk Foundation.

I have used this foundation for about 3 years now, and it’s one of my daily essentials.

It’s a light duey coverage, and literally makes your skin feel and look soft, flawless and glowy.

Personally I think it is a natural look foundation, and that’s why I choose to use it on a day to day basis.

I have sensitive/dry skin in some areas of my face, so using a foundation that isn’t going to make my dry skin even drier is a criteria that needs to be achieved when hunting for new make-up.

I can honestly say I have never broke out or had any redness due to this foundation.

I used to wear shade 3.5 as when I went into the store they did a match up with my skin tone, but it was a very pale day for me and since have upgraded to the deeper vanilla like shade 4.

I personally would in the future get either the 4.5 or 5 just because in the summer I do have a slightly darker skin tone.

(Emphasis on the word slight as my skin is apparently allergic to becoming anything close to a dark goddess).

Wearing Armani Luminous Silk Foundation.

Armani have really outdone themselves with this product, not being known as a beauty establishment and introducing themselves in this industry is hard when there’s so many competitive companies in the beauty world already.

It’s £42 and can buy it straight from the Armani website here. It is a slightly more expensive product, but definitely worth it and lasts me at least 3 months.

My second, and new discovery is the Urban Decay ultra light weightless liquid foundation.

I recently went into my local department store that sells Urban Decay because I actually wanted a new concealer, but you know what happens when you go to buy make-up, you come out with a load of other new products too.

I have wanted to try a new foundation for a while, one that was darker and a bit of a heavier coverage for when I go out out.

So I decided on the shade 6 in the Urban Decay foundation and I honestly love the coverage and tone.

These are photos with the Urban Decay foundation on, and it’s perfect when I have a tan.

It also mixes really well with my Armani foundation for when I want a deeper colour on a daily wear, however I have been breaking out a little recently and whether that’s because of mixing the foundations or because of all the stress of uni, I don’t know, so I’ll keep you updated to how the Urban Decay reacts to my skin with wearing it more often.

You can purchase it from the Urban Decay online store for £28.50 here. I think this is an absolute bargain price, and if you were going to purchase a new foundation but are a bit strapped for cash, then this is an investment you won’t regret.

Overall I’m really happy with both products, the Armani is a make-up bag essential for a light duey coverage, and the Urban Decay is a beautiful soft look, but with more coverage – perfect for those long nights on town.
