What motivates me?

Happy New Year!

After some time away from writing I wanted to make it my mission this year to get back into blogging, as that is where my passion lies and what I enjoy doing.

After graduation last year, I started a new job in Digital Marketing and Presenting. Let’s just say writing got pushed to the back of the list, and tomorrow turned into never.

Working full time, juggling a social life, and going to the gym – it’s hard to find time for the things you truly enjoy.

This brings me into today’s blog post.

Now I wanted to do this on a varied scale, however a lot of people do ask me in regards to my fitness, “How do you get up every morning and go to the gym?!”

I don’t want to give one of these long lectures that will only half heartedly inspire you. I want to get to the bottom of what really motivates YOU.

Within anything you do, whether it’s getting up and working out every day, whether it’s writing a blog post you desperately said you’d do last week, or if it’s just simply getting out of bed on a morning.

Motivation plays a huge role within everybody’s life. However what makes a person stay motivated? Determination.

I read a book recently called ‘How to stop worrying and start living’ By Dale Carnegie. If you haven’t read it you can purchase it here from Amazon.

Although it doesn’t tell you anything out of the ordinary, It was truly an eye opening book. It kind of made you think about the simplicity of life, of worry and of everything really. It puts things into perspective and overall helps you to live a more worry free life.

I’d definitely say determination is what gets me out of bed on a morning. I set my alarm for 6am, hit the snooze button a couple of times before I finally get the drive to get out of my warm bed and get to the gym.

So what gets me out of bed?

Well, I think it’s how badly you want it. I know that is very cliché – but nobody ever accomplished anything by talking about it.

Achieving your goals is about doing rather than sitting around thinking about doing. That make sense?

You couldn’t read about a push-up and suddenly have a six pack right? So that goes for anything in life.

For me that’s what it is, I guess I’m determined to change my body, I’m determined to be the healthiest version of me. I’m determined to get out of bed on a morning because I know those things aren’t going to happen on their own.

It’s about allowing yourself to accept the fact you’re never going to feel different, if you never do anything different.

I know it’s a lot harder for some people, others are more outgoing, get sh*t done type of people, and others are less enthusiastic about hitting their targets.

If you’re not an enthusiastic go getter, then I’ve put a few of my top tips together to get you ready to achieve your goals and make 2019 your year.

I hope these tips work for you, comment below or message me on Instagram @RebekahJwright if one of these has helped conquer one of your goals, whether it big or small.

Thanks for reading, let’s see if I can keep it up!

  1. I think about what I want to do a lot and I have to admit I have a pretty hard time pulling all those plans from the inside of my head and bringing them to reality.
I guess in the end it all boils down to the first step, you can plan all you want but if you don´t “man up” and take the first step it will never happen!
    I needed this!
